Cristina Fernández de Kirchner (personal ID)

I will soon be revising personal ID with one of my groups however most resources seem to focus on invented people! Attached is a card activity (print it out + cut it up) which is a reading activity about the president of Argentina. There are elections coming up but even if she is not re-elected the resource should stand the test of time as an example of a woman making it to a position of power. Clearly her politics may not be to the liking of everyone, but she is nevertheless a person worth drawing attention to, in my opinion.

The activity is on card + consequently the students won’t have the answers running in order as they might in a full text. I like this as it makes them think a bit more, esp when it comes to identifying past, present and future tenses.

The PowerPoint also includes an embedded video of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner just so that students can picture her (when you get to that slide just click on the box + the video appears. However, you must be connected to the internet at the same time). You could ask students to work out what she is presenting.
