Back to school and I’m back to teaching Year 7. I’m attaching to this post resources linked to “materiales escolares” + I want to draw attention to the fact that in Spain and many other countries stationery is not provided by the school. In slide 2 of the PowerPoint I show a “Back to school” advert from El Corte Inglés which is followed by extracts from the Back to School catalogue from Hipercor. If you click on the picture of stationery in slide 3 you will be taken to the online version which you can flick through to demonstrate the type of things Spanish students need to provide for themselves. As a result there is a lot to carry and slide 5 shows a video which illustrates this beautifully. After all of this cultural context you can then get into the job of presenting the necessary language etc.
